This client is a full-time wheelchair user. The apartment was a new build with a standard kitchen in place which was impractical for our client. We made subtle changes to the existing design to make this kitchen work for our client. We lowered the existing cupboards, worktops, sink and hob to their desired height and left underneath the hob open for easier and safe wheelchair use. We lowered the wall cabinets again to their desired height and fitted pull down shelving units in all cabinets so our client now has full access. The client was thrilled with the changes we made to ensure this kitchen was now fully wheelchair accessible.
