This client owns a field adjoining their garden and on their wish list was to include a Duck Pond which they could access. As the client is a full time wheelchair user we needed to ensure that they could get up close to the pond to enjoy the ducks and nature.

We first dug out and lined a large pond area leaving a small island in the centre on which I built a wooden duck house. I created a rockery waterfall stream down to the pond to create the illusion that this pond has always been there and the waterfall helps maintain the pond water and prevents  the water from becoming stagnant. I then laid a paved path down from the clients garden to the pond and made a small jetty to enable wheelchair access directly over the pond so our client can feed the ducks and enjoy the wildlife in the field. They are absolutely thrilled with their duck pond and receive many compliments from the neighbours and passers-by.
